Small residential units are becoming increasingly mainstream in Asia, and 33-square-meter spaces have gradually become common since the pandemic. The challenge lies in skillfully balancing functionality and aesthetics within these limited areas.
Upon entering the residence, we create a transition that allows one to escape the bustling city. The fair-faced concrete walls and flooring establish a pleasant ambiance that marks the beginning of home life. A floral display stand, designed for the homeowner to arrange flowers personally, features a unique adjustable height to accommodate different floral arrangements.
Drawing inspiration from the homeowner's love for giraffes, we transformed their distinctive patterns into a custom design vocabulary. By combining softwood veneer with delicate metal elements, we achieved a refined yet comfortable aesthetic rooted in minimalism.
The layout cleverly optimizes flow and functionality, employing a dual circulation design to maximize space efficiency. The design divides the area into distinct functional zones: a cozy living space and a dedicated storage area that discreetly houses all household items, from shoe cabinets and secondary clothing to wardrobes and multimedia equipment.
This apartment maximizes usable area and employs innovative design strategies to enhance the sense of space. It creates a harmonious environment that meets the homeowner's expectations while resonating with the urban backdrop and retaining individuality.
